University Policies
Northeastern University encourages and expects all members of its community to conduct themselves according to high ethical standards. All of our endeavors—including research, academic, business, athletic, community relations and student affairs—must be grounded in ethical principles, conducted according to the utmost standards of integrity, and carried out in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and university policies.
All university-wide policies, except for campus-specific policies, can be found on this university policy webpage. Northeastern also may have adopted policies specific to a campus. In addition to university-wide policies, students and employees must comply with applicable campus-specific policies that are accessible through the links in the menu at the top of this page.
University policies, handbooks, forms, guidelines and relevant resources are accessible through this website. Any copies (print or online) of policies that are inconsistent with the official versions posted on this website should be disregarded. Individual colleges and departments may have distinct practices, standards or guidelines, all of which must be consistent with these university-wide policies.
Compliance with Northeastern policies is, and always has been, a condition of employment and enrollment at the university. Northeastern may take action it determines appropriate to address conduct that violates one of its policies, procedures, protocols, training obligations, or applicable law. The university reserves the right to take any disciplinary action it deems appropriate under the circumstances, including, without limitation, loss of privileges, verbal or written warnings, probation, suspension, and/or separation from the university, to the extent permitted by law and in accordance with applicable university policies and procedures.
Specific to Canada, violating a university policy may constitute “cause” for termination of employment or enrollment.
The university also reserves the right to take any action permitted by law that it deems necessary under the circumstances in response to a violation of policy or law by any person or group of persons not employed by or enrolled at Northeastern, including, without limitation, restricting such person’s or group’s access to university property, events, and/or programs.
Please visit the University Policy History Report page for information on new, updated or retired policies.
